Vasant Panchami

Vasant Panchami, also reverently known as Saraswati Puja, marks the formal beginning of spring's arrival and the end of winter's slumber. The word 'Vasant' means spring, and 'Panchami' signifies that it is celebrated on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the lunar month of Magha. It is a festival painted in the cheerful and vibrant hues of yellow, a color that symbolizes the brilliance of nature, the bloom of life, and the ripening of mustard fields. Across North India, vast fields of mustard crops create a stunning yellow carpet under the gentle sun, a sight that is mirrored in the yellow clothes worn by people celebrating the day.

It is believed that on this day, Goddess Saraswati was born, and the universe was filled with the sound of her veena, dispelling chaos and bestowing consciousness.
